Solstice Tour; Members of Westport Historical Society participated in the
Murrisk Community Council Winter Solstice Tour of Archaeological Sites in the Aughagower Area.

Heritage Week 2012; There were two free events. A CoachTour of selected sites on Clew Bay Archaeological Trail & a Walking Tour of Westport Quay. Both events were very well attended. Thanks to Murrisk Community
Council for providing refreshments.

Launch of Cathair na Mart 30 (2012)in The Sheebeen, by Mr. Peter Hynes, Mayo County Manager. This was followed by an illustrated talk on Boolying by John Kerrigan, M.A. in Folklore and Ethnology.

Presentation of Medals.
The World War II medals of the late Radio Officer James Hennessy were presented to Clew Bay Heritage Centre by Paddy and Angela Moran on behalf of the Moran family.

The Gathering.
Clew Bay Heritage Centre was visited by RTE and Jean Butler, who were filming a programme for “The Gathering”. This was shown on RTE 1 on 30th October.
